You can call me David if you want to get serious; I prefer Dave because it’s more casual. My friends from college call me Slanch, and if I'm giving you a fake name, it's probably Alex.
I originally moved to NY to be an actor and comedian. At one point, I ran a live-action role-playing summer camp, where I still teach improv and theater to teenagers in the summers. Improv remains an integral part of my creative process and helps me quickly adapt from one divergent task to the next without skipping a beat. I also lead a 120-person arts organization, creating experiential happenings to delight participants.
I’m passionate about building content and creative experiences that move people to action. Getting people to pay attention and then do something requires understanding what matters to them and then providing an experience giving people something of value they want. When you do it well, they'll reward you.
I build spreadsheets for fun—seriously, ask me about my book tracker covering everything I've read for over a dozen years. Planning, data, logistics, and keeping things digitally organized make me feel happy and valuable; please excuse any mess on my actual desk.
Having worked in for-profit and non-profit organizations and on the brand and agency side, I am extremely versatile in what I can create and always excited for new challenges.
I'd be delighted to create fun work with you.
